May 1- Sam loves to eat! and Lucy is staying with us while Ben and Kir are in Europe. She's so sweet- we love her!
Around the house: Evan loves to push Sam in the laundry basket- Eli hitched a ride. Eli playing in the backyard- he doesn't need much- just underwear and shoes.
Fathers and Sons- Nate camped out with Evan and Eli. They had a great time and I'm glad they all came back in one piece! Nate got all the gear ready for the campout and only forgot his bag! He borrowed a sweatshirt and was fine.
Ben and Kir came home from Europe, Justin drove into town to pick Sarah and Lydia up and they spent an afternoon with us. Great times! We love our family!
Sunday walk- Evan got a little close while smelling the flowers.
Sam loves corn on the cob. Have I mentioned he loves to eat?
Before she had her eye teeth pulled.
Morgan after her teeth were pulled- see all the room?
Disneyland with Dave, Kristyn, Ben, Kir, and kids- so fun!
Carter and Sam
Girls galore!
Ready to row (but the ride shut down right when we were about to get on- no canoes today!)
Small World- Eli's favorite. Dave ended up on the kid boat while the rest of the adults were on the other boat with no kids.
Winnie the Pooh- so fun- the kids love it!
So tired from the day.
On our way home.
May 19- Swimming at Grandma's:
Shucking corn- kids are so helpful!Sam and Grandma Anne
I see you!
outlines of the kids- don't worry, they're all okay!
Eli burned his fingers on the stove. He was watching me make dinner and saw me turn off the gas burner and was curious to see if the metal was still hot. It was. Poor guy- he calls them his "fire fingers". We put honey on them and that helped with the burn.
More illnesses in our house: Sam has hand, foot, mouth disease. I think Eli and Evan might have had it too because our neighbor got it and they played together. But, Eli and Evan never had any symptoms. Sam developed a rash in his diaper area and on his feet, but not in his mouth. I think we got off easy!
New haircut- I love it and it makes me want to cut it again!
Memorial Day in Bakersfield
Growing up in Bakersfield, we would visit the cemetery where my maternal grandfather is buried as well as my living step-grandfather's first wife is buried. So, when we moved to SoCal, I was anxious to join Grandma and Grandpa Richards in that tradition. The whole family went last year and this year Evan and I hitched a ride with Ben and Kir. Nate took the other kids to Grandma Anne's for some R&R.Evan under the bible at the cemetery.
Grandpa Thad's headstone
Grandma Marjorie's headstone
Grandpa Richards (and cousin Jacob)- he's 95 and this is the first year he stayed by the car instead of walking to the graves.
Evan, Lucy, and Jacob under the scriptures. Kate having a fit next to them.
Me and Evan- it was a great time to spend with just Evan.
And to finish out the month:
Morgan and Nicole (her best friend) on a hike with their 2/3 split class.
The second grade musical program. They sung lots of songs from Australia- it was cute!
Close up of Morgan.
Well, that does it for May- not all the months are this busy but we had a great time!
