Fall is Here

One thing I loved about Seattle was fall.  The air was crisp and cool and fall brought the onset of salmon days and pumpkin patches, visitors and the zoo!  When I think back to our 6 years in the northwest, the fall holds some of the sweetest memories.

So, it's fall again but we're wearing shorts instead of sweaters and Evan keeps asking when we can rake leaves and jump in them.  We don't have leaves to jump into or salmon to view, but we have pumpkin patches!  Nate and I took the kids one Saturday and then I took the boys to another one during the week and met up with some friends from the ward.

Pete's Pumpkin Patch in Camarillo was set on a hill right off the 101.  Here the kids are navigating a hay maze.

My little pumpkins!

Sam's turn!

Evan's expression cracks me up.  Same with Eli:s.

Our haul.

We rode the tractor ride around the pumpkin patch.

Evan loved the tractor ride and sat right behind the tractor to see it working!

We hiked to the top of the hill.
We made it to the top!

And we came back down.  This picture captures Eli's energy today- he kept jumping up and down.

Here we are at Underwood Farms in Moorpark- it's a much bigger pumpkin patch with a farm.  We did the corn maze, but after following Evan for 20 minutes, found our way back to the entrance and went in the exit to find the giant pyramid of hay.  We needed Nate's exceptional navigational skills for this maze!

Here's the hay pyramid that we found by going in the exit!

My boys with Liam- a friend from church.

This was a cool conveyer belt that had a bowl attached and you put goat food in the bowl and then cranked it up to the goat platform where the food would fall out into the goat's dish.

Evan cranked it so fast I barely got a picture of him doing it!
