nine months

Sam is now nine months old.  He continues to grow and develop and keep up with his siblings.  The biggest "new" thing that this month brings is teeth.  He got 5 teeth in at once!!  He got his first 2 teeth at the end of September and now 5 more- all 4 on top and 1 more on bottom.  Needless to say, he has not been sleeping well.  And, because he is miserable, I nurse him whenever he wakes up at night, so now he is used to that.  He was sleeping through the night for about a week, and then the teeth happened.  All the teeth have broken through, so we'll have to start sleep training again.  Ugg.

Other fun things about nine months:  Sam says words- he really loves to talk (not surprising in this family).  He'll say 'dada' and other babbling sounds.  He also likes to sing- even in church- it's quite cute!

Sam loves kids.  He always has a sibling or two around him to keep him company.  And at church he had our 6 nine year olds in primary to play with him.  Well, Nate and I got released and on New Year's I had Sam in the hallway and he was pretty lonely.  Anytime a primary class would come out, he would crawl as fast as he could to get to them.

Sam is very happy.  Even though he's teething, he always has a smile.  He loves food.  He's discovered real food and loves it!  The kids always like seeing Sam eat the same thing they are.

Some of his favorite rooms:  the bathroom and the laundry room.  I'm sad that he found out about those rooms already.

He's still crazy while changing his diaper.  So, now, along with giving him a toy, I sing "I'm Bringing Home and Baby Bumblebee".  He loves it!  He gets so excited when I am about to "sting" him and then squeals with joy when I do!
He's such a sweet baby and so fun for the whole family.  We just love our Sam!

You can see his teeth coming in.  Poor Sam!

He'll reach up and play the piano- he can barely reach- it's so cute!
