I cannot believe that I have an eight year old! Morgan turned 8 on a Sunday (1/22/12) and we were able to go to Grandma Anne's for dinner and cheesecake (one of Morgan's favorites).
Morgan is such a good girl. Morgan loves animals (she would love a dog or cat, but contents herself with her friends' animals). She loves to swim and is in swim lessons- she's getting pretty good! She's fun, playful, helpful (VERY helpful). The other day I was in bed with a fever and Morgan took care of the kids. Every once in a while she would pop her head into my room with Sam on her hip and ask, "What do you think would keep Sam happy right now?" I'd suggest something to eat or to play in the back and she would go take care of it. She really is so mature for her age- I sometimes think she is older than 8.
Morgan came out screaming mad when she was born and didn't smile much for the next few years. As a toddler (1 ish) she would scowl at people- especially if they tried to make her smile. She got a little older and decided she was in charge. Evan came along and Morgan quickly moved into mommy mode- she was good with Evan. Morgan started preschool when she was 3 and started growing up too fast. She learned to read right when she turned 5 and would read everything!- especially the road signs. It was fun to drive around and have her read everything she could see. She started kindergarten as a Clark Shark. She was the head of her class. When we moved to CA, she adjusted well and quickly made friends. We have been here longer now than she went to school in WA (I can't believe that!).
Morgan had a little party with 3 of her good friends: Nicole, Bita, and Ava. We had pizza, played the candy bar game, watched "Beveryly Hills Chuahua" and had cupcakes. The girls (and Evan and Eli) had a really good time.
As I said before- I can't believe Morgan is eight! I am so glad she is our first because she is so good and her brothers look up to her. She has a strong testimony of the gospel and read the Book of Mormon in 6 months! She is pretty amazing! and I love her very much!!
