Morgan got a butterfly garden for Christmas. We sent away for the caterpillars and got 5 very small caterpillars in the mail about 2 weeks ago. They came in a jar with brown "food" on the bottom. Over the next days, we watched the caterpillars eat the food and grow. They got so big! There was one who didn't seem to change for about 4 days, but then he started to eat and grow also. Now, we have 4 that have attatched themselves to the top of the jar and turned into chrysillises and the last little one is growing bigger everyday! It's been so fun to have in our house- we look at them all the time to see how they've changed. Morgan even drew a chart to record their progress. So fun!
That's super cute. My sister does a preschool from her home and she got these for the preschool this past year. It was so fun when during preschool one of the butterflies hatched. The kids LOVED it!
